This time last year (early summer) UWAC decided that we would choose to support Helen and Douglas House – a charity that provides hospice care for terminally ill children. Deciding to make this an annual event, on the 21st June this year (2017) the Club held another charity shoot. The day was particularly memorable as being the hottest June day on record in 176 years!
Volunteers and participants came out in force to try their luck at shooting some balloons. All participants had a go at shooting balloons ten meters away whilst others braved thirty meters. A grand total of £166.47 was raised, more than the previous year! So a massive thank you to everyone for giving their time, sticking through the humidity and coming to try some archery.
We hope to make the balloon shoot an annual charity event and to organise more events in aid of Helen and Douglas House in the future.
