There was a notable performance at the BUCS 2018 Northern qualifiers by the Warwick Novice Team, made up by Moritz Kruschke, Aaron Lee and Tianshun Li. They gained a bronze medal in the Open Novice category. A bronze medal was also gained by the Ladies Team, while the Open Compound Team took home silver and the Gents Team took home gold.
After a successful day at the regionals, 18 Warwick archers qualified to go to the finals in Bristol. The team we took to the finals consisted of: Sarah Allaway, Sam Armstrong, Eleanor Blakey, Hannah Burnage, Emma Davis, Craig Devonport, James Edmondson, Carys Evans, James Gardner, Tom Hall, Sherman Ip, Tim Jackson, Aaron Lee, Enrik Nako, Daniël Prinsloo, David Richardson, Charlotte Rossetti and Jess Watts.
Team Warwick took home a gold medal for the Gents Recurve team with a combined score of 1672. This was achieved by Tom Hall, Sherman Ip and Enrik Nako.
The Ladies Recurve team, made up of Hannah Burnage, Emma Davis and Charlotte Rossetti gained a silver medal with a combined score of 1572. Our Compound team, James Edmondson and Tim Jackson, also took home a silver medal with a combined score of 1115.
In the individual Head to Head matches, Sherman Ip took home a bronze medal in a match that ended with a single arrow shoot off.
Another notable achievement is the new Portsmouth Round BUCS record set by Tom Hall at the Northern Qualifiers, who shot a massive 597 points out of a possible 600.
