On Thursday 21st June, the Archery club and the Air Rifles club set up their targets side by side for a first-time collaboration to raise money for Helen and Douglas House. This charity provides hospice care for terminally ill children and supports their families. More information about this charity can be found here.

As both the Archery club and the Rifles club are members of the newly revamped Warwick University Martial Arts and Target Sports( or 'WUMAT') group, a collaboration seemed a great way to kick start our new association. It also meant double the fun for all those who attended, as they got to try out two new sports instead of just one. The weather came through for us and the day was warm and sunny.

Those who attended could choose to try out either Archery or Air Rifle shooting for £3, or both for £5. Most people couldn't resist trying both!

At the end of the day, with many burst balloons, (and thankfully no lost arrows), we raised a massive £226.35, smashing last years total. We hope next years charity balloon shoot will raise even more for this important charity.
